Youll also find an identical Grand-Tour-winning geometry to past Tarmacs plus a high-end FACT 10r carbon fibre construction.
To top off this legendary frame the Expert features a full Shimano Dura-Ace 9100 groupset Roval SLX 24 rims laced to DT Swiss hubs and a bevy of Body Geometry components that maximize performance by providing the utmost in comfort. Featuring 2017 shared geometries:
Specialized have created a shared geometry that expands the fit range of the Tarmac platform and accommodates a greater percentage of competitive road fits. Their research into this model began in 2014 by analyzing the Retül database of over 40,000 professionally performed fits. By removing gender information and plotting a single chart, they’re able to create frame sizes that can accommodate all rider’s individual needs on the bike.
Based on the research they concluded there was no statistical difference for stack/reach and grip position correlating to gender. There was need to accommodate handlebar width, crank length & saddle preference which has lead to women’s builds.
- Max tire clearance has increased to a measured 30mm
- Stiffer more reliable derailleur hanger: offers increased shifting precision because hanger stays precisely in place when a wheel is installed/removed and is less prone to bending.
- Universal cable routing removes external housing bullets and allows any frame to be a visually clean bike with electronic groups, and also allows mechanical shifting to easily be used.
- Direct mount brakes have improved tire clearance and an improved, crisp feel at the brake lever.
- Integrated BB30 bottom bracket standard with CNC alloy cups. This offers the best combination of precision, compatibility, and low weight of all BB standards.
