Cycle to Work
Get your new bike and spread the cost over ~12 months while saving on Income Tax and National Insurance — typically 28–47% depending on your tax band. There's no upper price limit with the major schemes, so everything from a commuter to a flagship road or e-bike qualifies.
How it works
- Choose your bike (plus any safety kit — helmet, lights, lock).
- Tell us via the form below — we'll confirm the details and guide you through your employer's Cyclescheme scheme.
- You repay from pre-tax salary over ~12 months, so you never pay tax or NI on that portion — that's your saving.
- At the end of the hire you keep the bike (a small end-of-scheme fee usually applies).
What could you save?
Estimate only — actual savings depend on your employer's scheme and salary, and a small end-of-hire fee applies. Uses current 2024/25 rates (basic-rate NI is 8%, so ~28%).

Am I eligible?
- You're employed (paid via PAYE) and your employer runs a Cycle to Work scheme.
- You'll use the bike to commute at least half the time (leisure riding the rest is fine).
- The scheme is offered across the whole workforce.
- Self-employed? The salary-sacrifice route doesn't apply — get in touch and we'll advise.
Frequently asked
Is there a £1,000 limit? No — that old cap only applies to employers self-running the scheme under a specific exemption. The main providers are FCA-authorised, so there's no upper limit.
Do e-bikes qualify? Yes — electrically assisted pedal cycles are included.
What can I include? The bike plus cyclist safety equipment — helmet, lights, lock, mudguards and similar.
How long is it? The salary sacrifice usually runs ~12 months, then you keep the bike.
