"1. These shoes -rather heavy close to one pound each - came in wide fit so enough room for thicker socks without sizing up. 2. For colder weather, you can put an overshoes on top of these to further up the temperature tolerance range. 3. The vents underneath the shoes does let the water come pouring in but the Thinsulate insulation let the feet stay warm even when wet. You can tape it up with some waterproof tapes. VERDICT: The Specialized Defroster Road Shoes "DID SOLVE" the cold feet problem for me "COMPLETELY AND SATISFACTORILY" after years of trying to keep my feet warm with no significant success. The higher price do justify the enjoyment of comfortable winter cycling. "
